The other day when I was having my hair done, my hairdresser announced to her co-worker, “Did you know, Bettina is writing a book about PTSD.”
“No, I didn’t.” She looked absolutely puzzled.
I confirmed my suspicion that she didn’t know what PTSD was and began to explain it the best I could until her next customer arrived. It amazes me that so many people don’t know anything about it or may only associate it with War Vets.
To begin, PTSD has many more causes other than war experiences. Here’s a small list. We can start with bullying, accidents, shootings, natural disasters, divorce, abortion, child abuse, death and practically all severe difficulties in life.
